The 6^th Joint Dresden DZG Symposium will take place on March 26, 2024 at the Medical Theoretical Center (MTZ) at University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus Dresden from 1:00-5:15 pm!

We are delighted to announce that this year we have the honor of welcoming State Minister Sebastian Gemkow as our guest. Additionally, we are pleased to have Prof. Jakob N. Kather (EKFZ) as the keynote speaker on the topic of "AI in Medicine". Furthermore, Prof. Triantafyllos Chavakis (IKL) will also share insights into his research in DZG-overarching projects and his experiences with such collaborations.

Our annual funding call for overarching-DZG projects supports young researchers in forming partnerships and promotes networking. At the 6^thJoint DZG Symposium, the winners of the 2023 call will present their overarching-DZG projects and we will open the new call for 2024. We will provide opportunities to actively network and find potential partners for the next collaborative projects.

With the Joint Dresden DZG Symposium, we provide a platform for both young and established scientists to exchange ideas about current research strategies and state-of-the-art methods across the German Centers for Health Research (DZG) in Dresden. Dresden combines three DZG: the German Consortium for Translational Cancer Research (DKTK), the Paul Langerhans Institute Dresden of the German Center for Diabetes Research (PLID-DZD), and the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE). These were founded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) with the aim of bringing research results to patients more quickly, thereby significantly improving the prevention and treatment of common diseases such as cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, and diabetes.

Our aim is to raise awareness of the available resources in Dresden and foster personal connections, enabling the identification of interfaces and the development of interdisciplinary DZG research projects.
