Successful translational research needs interdisciplinary thinking and well-connected scientists who focus on the development of new therapies and preventative measures.

The working group for the promotion of young scientists supports them, and researching physicians, with cross-center training programs and events. The aim is to impart expertise in translational research on cross-indication topics, for example through workshops on special methods and techniques that are of interest to members of several - or even all - DZGs.

Lunchtime Career Talks and DZG Science and Career Day

With events such as the "DZG Lunchtime Career Talks" and the "DZG Science and Career Day", we create a multidisciplinary, national and international network of scientists in health research.

Learning from role models? That's possible in the successful online seminar series "Lunch Time Career Talks". Here, PhD students and postdocs learn about career paths in science and alternative career paths for scientists in translational health research. Whether clinical research, research in industry or science communication: here people give motivating and personal insights into their careers.

At the "DZG Science and Career Day", young researchers from the DZG can network across disciplines - whether they are working on the heart, lungs or cancer. Because all DZG scientists work with similar techniques and face the same challenges. The DZG Science and Career Day will take place for the first time in 2023 and will be held annually in future.
