Healthy children and adolescents through science – for a better life
The particularities of child development and the special needs of children and adolescents are not yet sufficiently taken into account in medical research and care. However, the fundamental course for lifelong health is set in childhood and adolescence. In the German Center for Child and Adolescent Health (DZKJ) experts have joined forces to research common and rare diseases and develop strategies for innovative diagnostic and therapeutic options as well as targeted prevention methods. The aim is to enable all children and young people at all stages of development to have the best possible health. The center is intended to sustainably strengthen research in the field of pediatric and adolescent medicine.
